Our house During the floods, taken from under our apple tree. Picture of the house from the front with the garden flooded
Our intrepid hero wades round to the front for a better look Picture of the steps from the flooded garden up to the patio
A view from the lane, if you look closely at the gate you can see the 'tide mark' where the flood water peaked the day before this picture was taken. Picture of the gate, taken from the lane, with water a third of the way up.
A view up the Thames Path, the only access for a car is along here! Picture of the lane, flooded and looking like a smaller version of the river next to it.
The side of the house, the flooded lawn looking like a millpond. Picture of the side of the house looking towards the lane and river beyond it, the lawn is flooded and calm
This one was earlier in the day before the feeble snow had melted. The water extended all the way to Winter Hill, normally a field full of cows gets in the way! View from the patio, across the flooded lawn and lane, to the river, three or four times its normal width as it floods across the meadow on the far bank
Some links to my favourite web-comics
Link Banner to Sluggy Freelance Link Banner to Bob the Angry Flower Link Banner to The Norm

Oh Yes, and you should all read my three favourite web comics, 'The Norm' and 'Sluggy Freelance' every day and 'Bob the Angry Flower' every Friday. If Sluggy Freelance makes no sense (which it won't) read it from the beginning.

Please note that all the code for this website was originally hand-hacked in raw html by me, much of it in the middle of the night, but it's since been re-written (still by hand) using compliant html 4.01 and css because I've had to learn them for my university project. Hence please direct all complaints and critical suggestions to Microsoft. General praise to me! I have also tried to make this site comply with accessibility guidelines, I don't know if I've succeeded, basically all I have done is use long descriptive alt attributes for the images, and a few acronym and abbreviation tags.

Valid HTML 4.01 Valid CSS!

Yay! Nasty web counter replaced with nifty w3c html and css validators.

Oh, and the photos are © me 2003 I guess. Plz don't use them without permission, just ask, I'll probably say yes, but its only nice to check!
